I write this post today in memory of my little sister LaDonna Courtney, my first and forever best friend, on the day of her 59th birthday. Her physical presence was taken from us by the demon cancer in 2005, but she continues to be with us in spirit.
LaDonna was a “dog person”, as I am, and our brother Terry was also. We always had a dog when we were growing up, and we each continued to have dogs after we became adults. I have been looking around the camp ground here at Green River State Park, and I noticed that there are many, many pets, mostly dogs but some cats, in our little neighborhood. I have been taking pictures of the ones I’ve met so far. This isn’t a complete list, so I may have to revise it later after I meet more dogs.
I start with the dogs that lived in the campsite next to ours last weekend. Their stay was brief, but I enjoyed watching their puppy playtimes while they were here.
Then there are our next door neighbors, Al and Karen, who have been full time RVers for 2 years and have an interesting story of their own. Check out their blog here, wishuponanrvstar.blogspot.com
Sadie and Alexis
Casey and Chelsea
Carla is another of our close neighbors and a hang-out buddy, a fellow full-time RVer and an Amazon carpooler. The next photo is her crew.
Angel and her cat-brother Leo
Next is my girl, who takes me for walks while her human is at work at Amazon. She’s my sweetheart! Thank you, Robert, for sharing her with me.
Our friends Mitchie and Bill are a lot of fun to hang with, and I’m sure we’ll have a long-term relationship. They haven’t quite made the decision to go full-time, but we think they will, now that they know what great people they meet. Here’s their girl and the new best buddy for our boys Toby and Potsy.
Our new camp ground mates just started at Amazon this week. Erin is a gourmet cook, and Tony makes a mean campfire.
The newest additions just came by our campsite for the first time today.
Rodeo and his little brother Buster
And last, but not least, our Boys. I share here the view I have of them very often, as we do what they love best – hiking. (In case Cesar Milan ever reads this, I want to make it clear that they do walk next to me if I insist.)
Potsy and Toby
Well, these are our canine campers. Now it’s time to have a glass of wine or a margarita for LaDonna!
Happy Birthday, Donna!
