After getting a great nights sleep we dropped Toby off at the kennel which is next door to the office at the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, AZ.

Then we headed out for breakfast at the Pine Country Restaurant.  Breakfast there was a terrific value, all I needed the rest of day was an Ice Cream cone at the Grand Canyon.  Williams looks like a real neat place to check out, touristy but neat.  We did not have a lot of time there due to the break down the previous day so we stuck to the plan and headed directly to the Grand Canyon.

It was a great day, the weather was perfect and we enjoyed reflecting on a special day we had here nearly 10 years ago.  Rhonda and I got married here 9 years and 11 months ago to the day.  Our wedding party consisted of a group of our closest family and friends.  While we were happy to be here and remember the fun times of that day and the great times we have had these past 10 years, we could not help being saddened by the reality that three of those folks that were here on that day are no longer with us today.  We miss you all.

As I said, it was a terrific day, the weather was great and so were the memories.

With a full day of exploring we headed back to the campground and just made it in time to pick up Toby before they closed.  He had made new friends and the gals at the kennel were doting all over him as we left.  True to form, he is just a big pup.

So tomorrow our route has us headed to Homolovi State Park.  There are ruins there from the same period as Palatki, the people were the same, ancestral Hopi.  It will be interesting to see this site.  Homolovi is just outside of Winslow also.  I’m sure we will be takin’ it easy, standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ.

More to come, stay tuned.
