A big part of the FT RV lifestyle can be the friends you make along the way.image

The porch at the little store just outside the campground.

It was the end of the week and the mist had hung around a couple of days.  It was damp and chilly, the sun never broke through and that was the forecast for the weekend also.

Low clouds engulf the mountains.

The plans were in place for a visit from new friends Brian and Barbara and we were hoping for a return of sunshine.

We got what we were hoping for.

As is often the case, the weather guessers guessed wrong.  The sunshine and blue sky was back for the weekend.  A very welcome sight for sure.  When the day was done there was a clear sky and a beautiful moonrise helped kick off the night.  The picture does not do it justice.

Moonrise in the desert.

As the sun set and the moon rose, we turned up the heat at the fire pit.  Lots of conversation and stories of past adventures followed.  Some discussion of future plans were mixed in also.

A gathering around the campfire

New friends are made and in comparing ‘notes’ on future plans, we believe there will be opportunities to cross those paths during the next 12 to 18 months.  Those meet ups will be in locations far from here. Lots of cool stuff to look forward to.

Stickin’ around

As we rapidly approach the closing out of another year, we are thinking ahead.  We have plans to meet up in the first half of 2015 with many folks we have met ‘out here’ in the past.  It becomes a huge neighborhood after a while.  There will be many fun times with lots of campfires ahead.

Brian & Barbara, it was great to see you guys again here at Agua Caliente.  Good luck with your goals to become FT in the spring.  Stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you again somewhere down the road.
