Believe it or not there is a Buddhist temple  here in Truth or Consequences, the Karma Jur Med Ling Dharma Center.  Now when you think about it that is not so strange, TorC can attract a wide variety of interesting folks and for a place that boasts ‘we’re all here ‘cause we’re not all there’ nothing is really surprising.

Well it was a surprise when Rhonda came into the 5er yesterday and said she heard the Dali Lama was in town and we had to go see him!  It truly is amazing how information can spread by word of mouth very quickly.  Seems a guest had seen a monk in town and assumed it was the Dali Lama, she told someone who also told someone and pretty soon guests at Riverbend were asking the front desk staff if it was true?  Now since the Dali Lama had not provided any itinerary for us to validate his activity over the next few days, we did not know!imageKarma Jur Med Ling Dharma Center Truth or Consequences NM

So we were headed to the store for supplies and stopped at the temple on the way, our curiosity was getting the best of us and we had to find out if there was anything to this rumor.image
Rhonda hopped out of the truck and went into the temple to inquire.  The burning question was quickly answered, the monk – fella Rhonda spoke with said ‘Ahemm, NO’ to the question ‘is it true the Dali Lama is here in town’?  Well so much for that, like I have always said, don’t believe anything you hear and only half what you see.  At least that is what I used to say, now days I am more open to a bunch of stuff that is not quite ‘mainstream’ thinking.  Trust in Government and big business is beginning to be compromised these days.  I guess as you get older you get more jaded.

We are just about to really clear the air
On another note, we are expecting a new appliance for the 5er.  Actually it is a good idea for any living space / sticks & bricks or RV.

Amazon is a fantastic resource folks:  two days ago the subject of air quality came up.  Rhonda complained that every time she comes into the 5er in the past few days her eyes start burning and she becomes congested.  What has changed?  After a few minutes of analysis, it dawned on us, the little filters on the Carrier Air V air conditioner in the rig, they have to be very dirty.
imageSure enough the temps have been climbing and the air has been on a lot.  Normally when it is running like that I clean those filters every Monday but having been in the hospital and being sick for days prior to that, I had dropped the ball!!  When I pulled the filters there was literally a dust cloud, alarming it was.  Well I fixed the problem and decided to jump on line to find a real fix for better air quality.

After a few minutes I had made a decision and a purchase.  the unit referenced above has three types of filtration including a UV light.  This unit has the highest wattage on that UV light of the other units from the same company.  The air in the rig will circulate approximately every 1 hour and 20 minutes.  I am pumped and can’t wait for it’s arrival tomorrow.  The UV light will kill bacteria and allergens, eliminate mold and should be a great help in keeping me from getting sick which is a concern with this dog gone condition, Pulmonary Fibrosis.

So that is the story, the unit is only $122.oo on Amazon and the filters as well as replacement UV lamps are available from Amazon also.  I had been thinking about an air purifier for the rig for a while, just never checked into it.  The UV light was the ‘kicker’ and the decision came quickly after a little shopping.  The unit only uses 55Watts/1/5Amp, Great for the RV for sure.  As I say Amazon is a terrific resource we have come to use all the time.

Thank you Amazon Shoppers, every purchase is greatly appreciated.
